Pet Gallery:  In honesty, this venture was very much a commercial one initially.  I hoped it would generate some income for me to then put into other areas of interest such as those seen in the other galleries on this site.  I did enjoy capturing peoples pets more than I thought I would and welcome any future commissions.  I work from photographs and using a drawing tablet, make the marks you see before you.  I never use filters or effects on the pictures, only the basic drawing tools in a very basic drawing package.  I still long for a version of photoshop!

'Tilly' Digital Image
This was the very first portrait I did and is the image I have used for a lot of the early marketing.  It came about as a opportunity to show an owner adamant not to have a pet portrait hanging in her house, that maybe they aren't as stuffy as people commonly perceive.  I have since completed portrait of all three of her dogs based on the result of this.

'Guinness' Digital Image
Tilly's boisterous big brother.  Endearingly referred to as 'Chav Dog' owing to the mighty gold chain and initially unapproachable demeanor.

'Jimmy' Digital Image
Tilly's other brother.  A nut for digging but otherwise harmless and lovely.

'Buddy'
A gift given to a good friend

'Sammy & Dax'
This was the commissioned piece I completed after the three dogs.  It was a birthday present for Jane who owns the Archiestown Hotel.  Well worth a visit!

'Bracken'
Whilst in Scotland, I learned of a local dog in Kent being taken by people lacking scruples.  I had met Bracken once before and knew her to be local to the Clarendon Pub on Brewers Hill in Sandgate.  This picture was done with very limited source material, only that of the reward poster which needed a great deal of adjustment.  The story does have a happy ending and the owners got their dog back but not before parting with hard earned cash.  This picture was a gift to say we were all hoping for a safe return.

'Davy Smiling'
This is Davy, my very own four legged friend.  He probably knows more people in Sandgate than I do!

'Guinness, Jimmy & Tilly'
A compositional exercise using our neighbors dogs for subject matter.

'Harley'
A gorgeous puppy with a mix of lurcher in him.  Met Harley in Acrise, just North of Folkestone where a friend has a workshop.

'Mischief'
This is Harley's brother and named by the children of the family.  Strangely the name is very apt.
