Gallery3:  I wasn't sure wether to include this gallery as it is more ideas than finished pieces.  I have slowly come around to using digital processes to aid my work and since converting I haven't looked back.  I often manipulate images I want to draw or paint on the computer before I start, ironing out wether it will make a strong finished piece.  Whilst learning the tools of my new trade I dabbled with the idea of producing digital images.  Although I was happy with many of the pieces, I kept imaging them as paintings or as pictures larger than I could print to.  The beauty of computer imagery is that you need very few things with you to create an image.  The first picture 'Anna' was done in the back of a camper van on a building site in Scotland.

'Anna' Digital Image
The first portrait I did.  Anna is my lovely girlfriend whom I owe a great deal for directing my path toward a direction in professional art. I am an appalling self publicist and think without someone like Anna I would continue to produce artworks for my eyes only.

'Archiestown Panorama' Digital Image
This is the small village where my parents have relocated to.  I loved my time here and have some artworks planned involving the ever changing scenery.  This panorama has started to makes its way on to canvas as a triptych.  The finished result will find it's way on to this site at some point but ultimately onto the wall of my parents house.

'Courtney' Digital Image
This was a commission for a very good friend of mine.

'Broadstairs, Kent' Digital Image
I hope to do a little more with these images.  Probably I will end up painting something.  I like the geometry of the scene which is at the little pier area.   I especially like the fellow in the distance who is also in the second picture fishing.  I think I like most about this scene is that people come and go quite rapidly.  They may decide to sit a while but stay only a short time. If their motives are any similar to my own, I think their motives for moving on is time.  Which is why I quit like the idea of sea fishing although I'm hopeless at it.  It makes you stand in a spot for long enough to really enjoy it.

'Broadstairs2, Kent' Digital Image
I would like to produce more images along these lines.  It's very much a study of people rather than of a place.

'Ben Renies' Digital Image
This is the enviable view from my parents plot of land in Scotland.  If you think weather is an indispensable subject for English conversation, it is a invaluable topic in the highlands.  From the vantage point of this picture you can see the weather moving in from miles away.  The locals are experts in prediction.

'The Esplanade' Panels 4,5 & 6. Digital Image
There are Thirteen panels in total at this time stretching from Castle Bay in Sandgate to Brewers Hill.  I would like to do more but they are an unusual subject matter. It is a system of cataloging my surrounding environment which includes the drab or uninteresting elements of a subject, not only the visually stimulating.  The only issue I still have to contemplate is that to make these panels a good visual size, few people would have the wall space to hang them.  This is very much work in progress.
